Chiappe Kate  Headshot

Kate Chiappe is thrilled to be a SCT Teaching Artist Apprentice for the 2016-2017 school year.  She started doing theatre when she was twelve years old and went on to recieve her B.A. in Drama from the University of Dalas in 2013.  She was a Drama School Intern this past summer and is currently the Administrative Intern for the SCT Education Department.  She has such a passion for the arts and is excited to learn more about being a great theatre artist in the months to come.

Stephanie Couturier has come all the way from Rhode Island and is thrilled to be joining SCT as a Teaching Artist Apprentice after being a Drama School Intern in Summer 2016.  She recieved her BA in Theatre Education and Acting from Emerson College.  Post-graduation, she served as a performing, directing, jack-of-all-Millennial-trades intern with GEAR (Give Everyone A Role) Productions in Rhode Island.  This is her first time on the west coast and she can't wait to see what all the fuss is about.

Elizabeth Freebairn is delighted to join this year's Apprentice Teaching Program at SCT. She graduated from Western Washington University in 2016, where she majored in Theatre with concentrations in Education, Directing, and Acting. Some of her favorite directing projects include Stop Kiss and The Water Children. A Seattle native, Elizabeth has previously worked with Washington Ensemble Theatre and Queer Teen Ensemble Theatre as a production intern and assistant director. Elizabeth is excited to apply her passion for theatre education in her new role with Seattle Children's Theatre.


Lynch James  Headshot 

James Lynch is a recent graduate of Seattle Pacific University's Theatre program.  He also took many theatre classes at SCT when he was a kid, and is very excited to return.  He has taught all ages of children through several theatre groups including SecondStory Reperatory and GreenStage.  James is currently working with Dandylyon Drama, teaching on a week theatre clubs at schools in the Shoreline area. 


Nowack Maia  Headshot

Maia Nowack grea up in Seattle, were SCT was a big part of developing her love for theatre. She recentlly graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelors in Theatre and a minor in Dance.  While there, she taught both drama and dance to students in extracurricular programs with the Evanston School District and assist at Baker Demonstration School.  Currently, she can also be found teaching dance to students of all ages at American Dance Institute. Maia was the YAI Intern at SCT last summer and she is super excited to be back!


Uyeji Kendall  Headshot

Kendall Uyeji is a recent theatre education graduate from Western Washingon University who participated in the sumer internship program at Seattle Children's Theatre.  He has trained in physical comedy, improv, acting and playwriting and has participated in theatre for many years.  He is overjoyed to be a part of the Apprenticeship program and is looking forward to teaching and learning throughout the year.
