Joanna  Barnebey

Joanna Barnebey, Education Finance and Operations Manager, has been a part of SCT’s Education staff since December 2012. As a performer, Joanna has been seen at many local theatres including the Village, ReAct, Café Nordo, and as a Freedom Dancer in the Soft Rock series. Her choreography has been seen at Seattle Musical Theatre and Bainbridge Performing Arts. Joanna has also toured the west coast with the performance art collective The Bran Flakes. Joanna holds a BA in Liberal Arts from Antioch University. She is a proud resident of Columbia City and an enthusiastic Light Rail commuter.

Don  Flemming

Don Fleming, Education Director, has produced hundreds and directed dozens of plays at SCT including Willy Wonka, The Phantom Tollbooth, Hair, Wind in the Willows, Pippin and As You Like It. He directed A Soldier’s Tale by Igor Stravinsky at Benaroya Hall in a collaborative project between SCT and Seattle Symphony. His scripts have been produced at theatres and schools all over the country.  The Plays for Young Audiences website, offers many of his scripts for licensing. Original scripts include High School Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Macbeth, Fight School, Medieval Farces, and Tomorrow Was Better.  Adaptations include Stargirl , Jane Eyre Speak, The Horse and His Boy, The Golden Compass, and Julie of the Wolves. His new adaptations of Dracula, Gulliver’s Travels and Alice in Wonderland have been performed at Youth Theatre Northwest, where he recently directed a production of Snow White. Don has a B.A. in Theatre from Oberlin College and has studied theatre with the Mabou Mines, Steppenwolf and The Royal Shakespeare Company. As an actor, he performed with many Seattle area theatre companies including Intiman, The Village Theatre, Pioneer Square Theatre, Seattle Theatre Project, AHA! and Seattle Children’s Theatre. For years he did knockabout farce with the travelling medieval theatre troupe The Merrie Japers.

Kaye  Hannah  Headshot

Hannah Kaye, Education Specialist, is an arts educator and administrator originally from Aotearoa New Zealand. In 2010 she graduated with a Master’s degree with first class honors in the area of dance education pedagogy; and went on to teach and administer the education program within the Royal New Zealand Ballet. After moving to Seattle, Hannah has involved herself in the arts education world and completed the Washington State Teacher Artist Training Lab in 2016, as well as gaining her certificate in Brain Compatible Dance Education at the Creative Dance Center in Seattle. With over 10 years of experience as a teacher and arts administrator, Hannah enjoys increasing the accessibility of the arts to all people, as well as inspiring students creatively and artistically.

Laura Knote, Education Program Manager, is delighted to continue her work for SCT. After receiving her BFA in Theatre from the University of Memphis in 2012, she has worked for SCT as a Drama School intern, Teaching Artist apprentice, Teaching Artist, and Theatre Arts Splash Coordinator. Laura fell in love with theatre while acting in elementary school, and couldn't be more excited to pass on the importance of creating transformative youth theatre experiences for children throughout Seattle.

Maltos  Tiffany  Headshot

Tiffany Maltos, Education Outreach Manager, is happy to be back at SCT. She is a graduate of Bowdoin College and has a teaching certificate in Theatre and English Language Arts. Tiffany is a native of San Antonio, TX and was the Education Manager at The Magik Theatre, before joining the wonderful SCT staff. During the day, Tiffany is at Seattle Children’s Theatre, but she moonlights as a professional Netflix watcher and Washington state waterfall chaser.

Carly Mungovan, Education Administrative Manager, was first introduced to SCT in the summer of 2014 as an administrative intern in the drama school and fell in love with theatre for young audienes! She is a 2015 graduate of Miami University in Ohio with a degree in theatre and minors in art history and arts management.  After graduation she served as a stage managment intern with Cincinnati Playhouse and has addditional experience teaching leadership through improv.  When not in the theatre she can be found cooking, hiking or painting.

Napel  Madeline  Headshot

Madeline Napel, Education Administrative Intern, joined SCT this fall after graduating from Northwestern University with a BA in Theatre and Sociology, focus in Theatre for Young Audiences. At Northwestern, she served two terms as the Executive Director of Seesaw Theatre, a student organization specializing in theatre for and with young people with physical and developmental disabilities. She spent the past four summers as a teaching artist with Portola Valley Theatre Conservatory (PVTC), located in her native SF Bay Area, CA. There, in addition to teaching acting and directing summer shows, she designed and led their Summer Access Program. When not at SCT, Maddie is usually outside, enjoying Seattle's natural beauty!
