School Children Access Program

SCT’s School Children Access Program serves the very heart of our mission “to provide children of all ages access to professional theatre, with a focus on new works, and theatre education.”

To ensure access to our productions, SCT’s School Children Access Program allows us to provide $30 tickets to schools for only $10 - in addition to free tickets for all teachers and low income students – to experience live theatre and to benefit from the educational resources we provide.

Back in the classroom, teachers are able to enhance the students’ experience of the plays by using SCT’s educational resource, called Off-stage: An Active Audience Guide, prepared specifically for each production. These guides elucidate the themes of the plays, while tying into core curriculum standards and helping teachers to fulfill many of the state mandated learning requirements.

As SCT’s single largest annual expense, the SCAP program is expected to cost $1.4 million this year and to serve over 55,000 students and teachers.
