Details

During the run of Luchadora!, we’ll have a variety of art, engagement, and performance opportunities before select shows. Artists will have their own booths,  where you can explore, appreciate, and purchase their works. We’ll have partner organizations in the lobby, where you can get to know the work they do in the community. Check the schedule below to see which dates will feature extra entertainment!

SCHEDULE

March 8th, 2024 – Casa Latina (local organization supporting the power and well-being of Latino immigrants)

March 9th, 2024 –  Teresa Martinez (jewelry, prints, and more)

March 10th, 2024 – Casa Latina

March 16th, 2024 –  Cecelia DeLeon (digital illustrations, paintings, and more)

March 17th, 2024 –  Lucha Libre Volcánica (wrestling demonstration, 30 minutes before each performance)
*Please note the demonstration will be a choreographed lucha libre match which will include depictions of fighting with rapid sequences of holds and high-flying maneuvers.

Cecelia DeLeon

March 16th, 2024 before both performances

Cecelia DeLeon AKA Mousy DeVilla is a Visual Artist living in South King County. She utilizes her design background to convey ideas through digital illustrations, paintings and 3D installations. Most of her work is brightly colored and vibrant, often inspired by her Mexican-American background, themes of social justice, immigration and human rights. Her work can be found on murals and wrapped on traffic controller boxes throughout the king county area.

Casa Latina

March 8th & 10th, 2024 before both performances

Casa Latina is a nonprofit organization that advances the power and well-being of Latino immigrants through employment, education, and community organizing. They were founded in 1994 to advance the power of Seattle’s Latino immigrants by providing them educational and economic opportunities, giving people the tools they need to work, live, and support their families. Their vision is that the Latino community participates fully in the economy and democracy of this country.

 
Lucha Libre Volcánica

March 17, 2024, 30 minutes before both performances

Lucha Libre Volcánica is an action-filled, all-out war between rudos and technicians, who fly into battle performing daring, acrobatic stunts of epic proportions! As the premier Lucha Libre troupe, Lucha Libre Volcánica is the only place to see classic Lucha Libre action in the Pacific Northwest! Lucha Libre Volcánica is also the only wrestling school in the Northwest, based out of Tacoma, Washington. Find out more on their Instagram and Facebook.

Amano Seattle provides community art education. In addition to classes and workshops, Amano creates handcrafted Latinx/Mexican-inspired art pieces that can be found in local shops around Seattle. Learn more at amanoseattle.com.
